For more information on Coins.ph  Virtual Cards, please refer to the Virtual Card User Agreement.

General

  • What is the Coins Virtual Card?
    • The Coins Virtual Card is a fully functional Visa prepaid card that you can use online anywhere that Visa cards are accepted.
  • What is the difference between a Coins Virtual Card and a Credit Card?
    • The Coins Virtual Card is a prepaid card on your Android device that allows you to make online purchases. You need to have enough funds in your card first to complete a purchase, unlike Credit Cards. In comparison, Credit Cards allow you to borrow the amount of money for a purchase with the promise to repay later at a set interest rate.
  • What are the advantages of using the Coins Virtual Card?
    • The Coins Virtual Card is a convenient way to make online purchases wherever Visa cards are accepted.  Our Virtual Card accounts link directly with your Coins.ph  wallet in order to provide the same convenient cash-in options.  Additionally, your funds on the Virtual Cards will be stored in US Dollars, enabling convenient international purchases as well as local online purchases in Philippine Pesos.
  • Where can I Use Coins Virtual Card?
    • You can use your Virtual Card wherever Visa cards are accepted online, including leading internet services like Amazon, Zalora, Uber, Grab Credits, and many more.
  • How will my virtual card transactions affect my Coins limit?
    • Transactions from your Virtual Card to an online store will not affect your daily Coins limit, however topping up your card will be counted against your daily and annual Cash Out limit.
  • How do I create my Virtual Card?
    • To be eligible for a virtual card, you will need to verify your mobile number, email address, selfie, and ID with the Coins.ph  team.  Once your verification process is complete, you will be able to create your Virtual Card in a few easy steps!  Initial minimum top up is just $10 USD.
  • How do I start using my Virtual Card?
    • Once your card has been properly loaded, tap the card to see your balance and “SHOW CARD DETAIL” button.  Tap the button and wait a moment to view your PAN, CVV, and Expiration Date.  These details, along with the address listed on your Coins.ph account can be used in nearly all Visa card forms online.
  • Can I get physical card for my Virtual Card?
    • We are a digital-first financial services company and do not currently offer a physical Prepaid or Credit Card.  If this is a product that is interesting to you, feel free to let our Support team know by emailing us at help@coins.ph!
  • Why do I need my Coins.ph account to be ID and Selfie Verified?
    • Because the Coins Virtual Card is an official Visa card, our card issuance partner requires the information, verifications, and anti-fraud measures included in the ID and Selfie verification process.
  • Can I earn using my Virtual Card?
    • We do not offer direct rewards for our Virtual Cards, however from time-to-time Coins.ph  may run promotions that offer discounts or rebates with partner companies that accept the Coins.ph  Virtual Card!
  • What does locking my virtual card do?
    • Locking your virtual card prevents purchases on the Visa network.  This can be used as a security measure if you feel that another person or party may have gained access to your Virtual Card information
  • When should I lock my virtual card?
    • Lock your card for security purposes if you feel your Virtual Card number has been compromised in some way. Be advised that, while locked, your card will not be able to make recurring payments for subscription services like Netflix and will not be able to receive refunds for the monthly fee that Coins pays on your behalf, so be careful to only lock your card temporarily for security purposes or while settling a dispute.

  • Someone else might have access to my sensitive Virtual Card information, what should I do?
    • If you still have your mobile device, log into your Coins.ph account and find the “Locking” feature on the back of your Virtual Card.  Locking your card will prevent someone with the information from making purchases.  If you do NOT have access to your mobile device, reach out to our support team (help@coins.ph) and we can lock your card on your behalf.
  • Why does my Virtual Card show a monthly fee?  Why has my monthly fee not been rebated?
    • Our Card issuing partner charges each virtual card a monthly fee of $1, which Coins.ph pays on our user’s behalf by issuing a refund back onto your Virtual Card on your rebate day.  If you are not seeing your refund yet, make sure a full day has passed and that your virtual card is not locked.  If you still are not seeing your refund, please reach out to our support team, help@coins.ph.
