Update: The Ethereum wallet downtime has been changed to December 8, 2019 at 6:30 AM - 9:30 AM. This is to accommodate a small change in the projected schedule when the upgrade will take place.
Ethereum's network protocol upgrade named Istanbul will be deployed at block 9,069,000, which is anticipated to occur around December 8, 2019, 4:00 AM* (PH Time GMT+8). This network upgrade helps with scalability, improves security, and enables the blockchain to operate more efficiently.
To support the upgrade, Coins will be halting all ETH wallet services between December 8, 2019, 2:30 AM and 5:30 AM (PH Time GMT+8).
Please note: The date and time of the upgrade is subject to change due to the variable nature of Ethereum block creation rates. If a significant change in the expected time of the upgrade occurs, we will send a further update.
The supportive actions we will be taking include (but are not limited to):
- Temporarily suspending the sending and receiving of ETH on Coins.ph
- Temporarily suspending the buying, selling and exchange of ETH on Coins.ph
- Temporarily suspending the sending and receiving of ETH on Coins Pro
Trading of ETH on Coins Pro during the maintenance period will not be affected.
During the downtime, our team will manage technical requirements and monitor developments; customers do not need to take any specific actions for this upgrade.
