You can easily pay your payment request using your own Coins.ph, 7-Eleven, M Lhuiller, and Cebuana Lhuiller.
If you've received a Coins.ph Payment Request but have never used Coins.ph before, there's no need to worry! Here's everything you need to know.
What is a payment request?
Payment requests are an easy way for Coins.ph customers to collect money that they are owed.
Coins.ph is a financial services platform, and payment requests are a service we offer through our website and mobile app.
The sender of the request indicates the contact information of the person they want to collect payment from (i.e. email address, mobile phone number, or Facebook name of the person), along with the amount and the description of the payment. Coins.ph then sends an SMS and/or an email address to the person that the customer indicated and makes it possible for the person to pay through convenient outlets such as 7-Eleven, M Lhuillier, and Cebuana.
Do I need to have my own Coins.ph account in order to pay?
No, you don't need to open your own Coins.ph account to fulfill a payment request.
A Coins.ph account is only needed if you want to pay with your Coins.ph Peso or Bitcoin wallet balance. Otherwise, you can proceed directly to any 7-Eleven, M Lhuillier, or Cebuana branch to make a payment.
However, if you want to send your own payment requests in the future, you will need to sign up. Signing up for a Coins.ph account is completely free - all you need is an email address or mobile number.
How to fulfill a payment request
Here's a sample payment request, received via email:
The first thing you'll need to do is to check if you know who the person that is requesting the payment from is, and if the amount of the payment they are asking for is correct.
Payments are irreversible, so it is important to check the validity of the request before paying it.
When you click on the "Pay" button, you will be taken to a coins.ph page that looks like this:
The URL of the page should start with "https://coins.ph/".
You should see the person's complete name, their complete email address, and their Facebook profile photo at the top part of the page.
The amount they are requesting for and the details (i.e. "your share of dinner") should appear below their name.
What happens after I pay?
Once you've completed payment at your chosen outlet, Coins.ph will notify the person to whom you've paid, and the funds will automatically be credited to their Coins.ph account. You will also receive a confirmation via SMS and/or email that your payment was successful.
