To illustrate the difference between the two, you may refer to this simple table and list of unique features per wallet below:
Features | Ronin Address | Ethereum (ERC-20) Address |
Creation Fee | FREE! | FREE! |
Prefix | 'ronin:' | '0x' |
Can receive | SLP and AXS only | ETH and other ERC-20 supported tokens |
Network | Ronin Network (RON) ONLY | ETH Mainnet (ERC-20 Network) ONLY |
Your Ronin Address:
- Starts with a ‘ronin:’ prefix
- Can accept direct SLP/AXS transfers from the Ronin Network (RON),
- Can also send AXS transfers via Ronin Network (RON),
- Is free! You just need to activate your Ronin address
Your Ethereum (ERC-20) Receiving Address:
- Starts with a ‘0x’ prefix
- Requires activation of your ETH Address. [READ: Can I create an Ethereum / ERC-20 Address for free?]
- Can only accept direct ETH and other ERC-20 supported tokens through the ETH Mainnet (ERC-20 Network)
- Cannot receive tokens sent from other networks (e.g. BNB Chain, Ronin Network, MATIC Network, etc.)
REMINDER: funds sent using the incorrect address and network will not be recovered and will result in a permanent loss.
