If you are not actively using your unverified account, you may leave your account on as is and there is no need to have it deactivated. You may just keep your account logged out. However, kindly take note that there are maintenance fees charged to accounts that are inactive for at least 12 months.
However, if you already have a verified account, we recommend that you do not deactivate it since our User Agreement only allows one verified account per user, but if you wish to proceed in deactivating your ID and selfie verified account, you may check this article for further information.
Account Deletion Process
Here is a general flow of what to expect with the account deletion process.
Please note that the Coins.ph account deletion process begins with the account deactivation. To proceed, see the next steps below:
1. Complete our request form here or send an in-app message. Select the issue detail "My Coins.ph Account" and choose "I want to delete my account".
2. Within 12 hours, our team will respond to your message. You will be asked to complete our customer verification form with your basic verified account information (full name, email, contact number) as well as a recording of yourself holding a valid ID to confirm the authenticity of your request for account deletion.
3. Upon valid submission of this form, your account will be successfully deactivated within 24 hours.
Deletion of Account Data
In compliance with local regulations, financial institutions such as Coins.ph are required to keep customer records for at least 5 years from date of deactivation. Please be assured that once your account is deactivated, no one will be able to access this. A separate reactivation process will take place in case you wish to access your account in the future.
