What is an MPIN?
Account security is at the top of our priority. With Coins accounts now using MPINs, securing your account is now easier to remember with the 4-digit passwords.
Here are quick steps you can follow to change your current MPIN:
Changing MPIN when Logged Out
From the Login Page (App)
- Click on the
button.
- Select "Forgot MPIN/Password?"
From the Need Help? option (Web)

Click the "Need Help?" link directly from the login page.
- Choose "Forgot my MPIN/Password" from the options.
3. You may opt to provide the mobile number or email address, whichever is linked to your account.
4. Then, provide a new MPIN for your account.
5. Kindly input all the required verification codes under Security Check.
Note: Once all required verification codes are provided, the Confirm button will turn blue.
If unable to receive, you may click the Need help? button below, and check our Help Center article here for more help.
You may also be required to complete Facial Recognition (in-app) or Selfie video recording (on website). This is a recent security feature to ensure it is indeed the account user requesting updates to their account details.
Changing MPIN when Logged In
From the Account Settings
If you are logged in, you may also update or change your MPIN by going to Settings through the Account icon. Then click Change MPIN/ Password.

On the Coins Website
NOTE: Please be advised that the above feature is available only for updated Coins.ph applications. Kindly update your app to the latest version (You may refer to our Help Center articles here for Android and here for iOS for guidance). Otherwise, you may access the said feature through the Coins Website.
Security Tips
MPIN Combinations to avoid
- Same digits (e.g. 0000, 1111)
- Incremental or decremental consecutive digits (e.g. 1234, 9876)
- Consecutive numbers (forward or reverse sequence) from your mobile number
- Derived from your birthdate
- MPIN previously used
- MPIN is already used with another website or service
