Verification codes, also known as One-Time Passwords (OTPs), are essential for securing your transactions and account updates on Coins.ph. These codes are sent to your registered mobile number, email address, or 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) app whenever you perform specific actions that require verification - all that are required under Security Check.
When Do You Need a Verification Code?
You will be prompted to enter a verification code for the following actions:

Cash in / Cash out transactions

Buy load / Pay bills transactions

Wallet transfer transactions

Logging in to your account

Resetting your password

Changing your email address and/or mobile number

How to Receive Your Verification Codes
To ensure you receive your verification codes smoothly, follow these steps:
1. Check Your Account Details: Make sure your registered email address and mobile number are correct and accessible.
2. Request the Code: When prompted, click on Request Code. If using a 2FA app, retrieve the code directly from the app.
3. Code Validity: Remember that verification codes are unique and valid for only 10 minutes. If you request a new code before the old one expires, the previous code will become invalid.
Troubleshooting Delays in Receiving Codes
If you experience delays or errors in receiving your verification codes, consider the following tips:
- Stable Connection: Ensure you have a strong internet connection or mobile signal. The speed of code delivery depends on your connectivity.
- Check Spam/Junk Folders: If you're expecting an email and don't see it, check your spam or junk folders.
- Lost Access: If you’ve lost access to your registered email or mobile number, seek assistance through the Need Help? option on the platform.
Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Enabling 2FA adds an extra layer of security to your account. Once activated, you can receive verification codes directly from your Google Authenticator or Authy app. Read here on how to enable two-factor authentication for your account
Managing Your Authentication Methods
You can customize how you receive verification codes by managing your authentication methods:
- Access Settings: Open your Coins.ph account and navigate to Settings.
- Select Authentication Methods: Under Security, click on "Authentication Methods."

3. Toggle Preferences: Use the switches to enable or disable notifications for your email address or mobile number. The switch is ON by default for any email address or mobile number linked to your account.
If you would like to not use your 2FA for authentication, kindly proceed instead to Settings. Under the Security section, and click Disable Authenticator App.
4. Proceed with the verification steps. You may be required to undergo verification such as Facial Recognition or several authentication codes.
5. Authentication methods are now set. You'd only receive verification codes on your preferred account details that are turned on.
